500 Sprint Car Tour Prepares for Nashville Journey

On Saturday, July 29th, the 500 Sprint Car Tour presented by Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Parts Stores heads south for the first time as they travel to the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. For the first time since 2004, Nashville fans will see a non-wing sprint car thunder their way around the 0.596 mile oval. The trip will be the longest the series has made since its inception in 2022 as it looks to expand its market reach.

As the championship battle heats up, Nashville will prove to be a pivotal race for the majority of championship leaders. With only 13 points separating the top two drivers and 76 points separating the top three, the championship race is still up for grabs. Tyler Roahrig currently leads the points standings with two victories on the season. Both wins came in dominating fashion at Berlin Raceway. Roahrig has now won all four events contested at Berlin for the 500 Sprint Car Tour and looks to carry that momentum into the ProDoor Manufacturing 40 at Nashville.

Also with two wins on the season, and sitting in second place in points, Kody Swanson will take is #77 Mission Foods entry for Doran-Binks Racing to the Music City with hopes of regaining the points lead. Swanson is the only driver to win back to back races with the 500 Sprint Car Tour after he went to victory lane on June 18th at Toledo Speedway and then July 8th at Anderson Speedway. The reigning series champion continues to have one solid drive after another in search of his second straight season championship.

A star studded field of non wing pavement sprint cars racers will find their way to Nashville Fairground Speedway alongside Roahrig and Swanson. Some notable entries for the event are Kyle O’Gara, Bobby Santos III, Jake Trainor, Dakoda Armstrong, Taylor Ferns, and Billy Wease. O’Gara and Santos are both 500 Sprint Car Tour winners with O’Gara having gone to victory lane once already in 2023. Santos will be the only confirmed driver to compete in the 2023 event that also competed in the 2004 non wing sprint car race at the famed oval. Trainor is the defending winner of the 75th Annual Lucas Oil Little 500 presented by UAW and will look for his second marquee win of 2023. Armstrong, Ferns, and Wease are all series regulars who have been knocking on the door for race wins all season long.

The 500 Sprint Car Tour presented by Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Parts Stores event at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is set for its Saturday, July 29th date. The series will be joined by the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Models in a 100-lap feature, Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Front Runners, Legends, and Bandoleros. There will be an open practice on Friday, July 21st from 3:00pm to 7:00pm for teams to become acquainted with the racetrack. Pit gates will open at 9:30am and spectator grandstands will open at 3:00pm (all times are Central TIme Zone). The ProDoor Manufacturing 40 will be one of the final features of the night and the entire night can be viewed LIVE on Mavtv on Floracing. Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be purchased here.
