Bettis to make 500 Sprint Car Tour Debut at Anderson Speedway

Indianapolis, USA Colton Bettis will make his 500 Sprint Car Tour debut this Saturday during the 9th annual Tony Elliot Classic at Anderson (IN) Speedway. The teenage phenom, who just turned 15 years old last month, will pilot the #26 AP Driver Development / Logical Systems Inc. / Sam Pierce Chevy.com Beast for Sam Pierce Racing. The event will be Colton’s first race in a 410 non-wing Sprint Car and the fourth national event of his budding career. He has three top ten finishes including two runner-up performances to his credit at the national Sprint Car level and one fast qualifier award, all during the 2024 season and all with a wing.
“We got about a hundred laps of testing in last week and I got real comfortable running without the wing. AP (Aaron Pierce) got me up to speed quickly and we were able to lay down some good lap times” said Bettis. I really would like to thank Sam and Aaron Pierce for the opportunity to run such a competitive race car in the 500 Sprint Car Tour. I have watched some of these guys race for my entire career, and I’m honored to be able to finally race with them.”
Colton has one previous appearance at Anderson Speedway, where he won a Kenyon Midget feature in dominating fashion during the 2023 season.
Bettis is currently ranked fourth overall in the National Pavement Sprint Car Rankings as of September 30 with six total Sprint Car victories, all in his home state of Florida. 2024 has been a banner year for Colton, with two championships to his credit so far including the 2024 Dave Steele Sprint Car combined Championship and the Auburndale Pro Late Model Championship. He has a commanding lead in the 2024 Southern Sprint Car Championship with three races remaining. Colton earned eleven open wheel championships by the age of 12 and become the World’s Youngest pavement Sprint Car Champion in 2021.
