On Thursday, March 9th, the 500 Sprint Car Tour conducted its 2nd Annual 500 Sprint Car Tour Media Day. Over 30 drivers between the 500 Sprint Car Tour and the USSA Kenyon Midget Series descended on the Anderson Country Club in Anderson, Indiana to partake in this new and exciting offseason event for the 500 Sprint Car Tour. This event is the first step in declaring that racing season is right around the corner.

From seasoned veterans to hopeful rookies, race winners to championship contenders, the 500 Sprint Car Tour Media Day saw it all. With multiple media outlets present, drivers were presented with the unique opportunity of exposure they have never seen before. Interviews, headshots, hero shots, and group discussions were all things the drivers encountered. Legendary sportscaster, Dave Argabright, was present to conduct long form interviews with drivers, owners, sponsors, and series officials. A special interview was conducted where Tyler Roahrig, two-time and defending Lucas Oil Little 500 presented by UAW winner, recounted the moment he set the track record at Anderson Speedway during his historic Little 500 qualifying run. Other notable drivers that were asked to complete long form interviews include Kody Swanson, Bobby Santos III, Dakoda Armstrong, Brian Gerster, Taylor Ferns, Billy Wease, and Jackson Macenko.

The media day event spanned a five hour period where drivers came in six to seven person groups. Drivers participated on a rotating basis between sit down interviews with media, hero shots, and long form interviews for broadcast partners and social media content creation. Drivers also participated in an individual photoshoot where they were able to get headshots and other posed photographs to be used for content creation. All drivers for the 500 Sprint Car Tour and the USSA Kenyon Midget Series took part in the individual photoshoot as well as social media content creation. In addition to a number of drivers conducting long form interviews with broadcast partners, a couple special guests were also invited to share their insight. Rick Dawson, Owner and President of Anderson Speedway and the 500 Sprint Car Tour, sat down with Dave Argabright to discuss his 27th year of owning Anderson Speedway and the evolution of the Little 500 from its 50th anniversary to its 75th. Brad Hayes, Owner of the USSA Kenyon Midget Series, was also interviewed to discuss the partnership between the two series and how the Kenyon Midget Series has become a stepping stone into the 500 Sprint Car Tour.

Content from the 500 Sprint Car Tour Media Day will be released periodically throughout the 2023 season. Fans that watch 500 Sprint Car Tour races on MAVTV will see some of this content as it will be used during broadcasts throughout the year. Fans will also see interviews and other items released on the 500 Sprint Car Tour social media pages, as well as the Anderson Speedway and USSA Kenyon Midget Series social media channels.

The 500 Sprint Car Tour will run a 10 race schedule from early April through mid October. Nine of the 10 races are points earning events with the 75th Annual Lucas Oil Little 500 presented by UAW (Saturday, May 27th, 2023) being a non-points earning special event.
