Sprint Car Double at Berlin
In what will be one of the most anticipated events of the Summer, the 500 Sprint Car Tour is pleased to announce that the July 22nd event at Berlin Raceway will also showcase the USSA Kenyon Midget Series and the Engine Pro Must See Racing Sprint Series.
“Having an open wheel show at the Berlin Raceway is something I wanted to see even before I was affiliated with the track”, said Jeff Striegle - General Manager of Berlin Raceway. “Race fans have always requested, and supported, open wheel shows for many years. Having the wing-sprints, non-wing sprints and midgets on the same show is going to make for a great night of racing action”.
The companion race will be the first of its kind since 2010 as the only two 410 pavement sprint car series in the country will be competing on the same day at the same racetrack. Fans will notice one significant difference between these two racing series, as Must See Racing promotes a winged sprint car that produces high downforce and blistering speeds, while the 500 Sprint Car Tour boasts a non-winged sprint car that produces extreme horsepower and grueling side by side racing.

The chance to see two of the best pavement sprint car series’ in the country is something Berlin fans will not want to miss.”
In 2010, Must See Racing competed in a companion event with the USAC National Sprint Car Series at Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana. Many attempts have been made to run winged and non-winged sprint cars on the same night in years past, but no such attempts came into fruition. The level of excitement for the July 22nd event has been welcomed by fans and drivers alike. The two series will see drivers bring a winged and non-winged sprint car to compete in both races.
One driver to announce they will be competing in both races is Must See Racing and 500 Sprint Car Tour race winner, Bobby Santos III (Franklin, Massachusetts). Santos competed full time on the 500 Sprint Car Tour in 2022 and plans on competing full time in 2023 as well. Although he primarily competes in non-wing cars, he has had success in winged sprint cars and will continue to compete with Must See Racing for select events.

“I am personally excited because I really like Berlin,” said Santos. “I have come to enjoy winged racing more in recent years. It is a really neat opportunity to run both winged and non-wing race cars on the same day.”
Berlin Raceway is a 7/16 mile long paved oval located in Marne, Michigan. The track, which opened in 1950, has a unique shape making it feel almost circular. With 13 degrees of banking in the corners, and 9 degrees of banking on the very short straightaways, the track poses a difficult challenge for drivers of all disciplines.
“The fast and tricky Berlin Raceway will definitely challenge both series’ race teams,” said Jim Hanks - President of Must See Racing. “This event will give the fans a great night of open wheel sprint car racing with a rare side by side showcase of the two very different sprint car types, disciplines, and racing”.

The 500 Sprint Car Tour will run a 10 race schedule from early April through mid October. Nine of the 10 races in 2023 are points earning events with the 75th Annual Lucas Oil Little 500 presented by UAW (Saturday, May 27th, 2023) being a non-points earning special event.
