Michigan Portion of 2024 Schedule Kicks Off at Berlin

Michigan Portion of 2024 Schedule Kicks Off at Berlin

With the 76th Annual Little 500 presented by UAW officially in the rear view mirror, the race to the 2024 500 Sprint Car Tour Championship is now in full swing. After back to back races at the familiar high banks of Anderson Speedway, the 500 Sprint Car Tour now heads to another familiar place in Berlin Raceway. Berlin has been home to at least two 500 Sprint Car Tour events in each of the series’ first two seasons of competition. The famed Michigan track will once again host two events in 2024 with the first coming this Saturday, June 8th.

Tyler Roahrig has been the class of the field every time the 500 Sprint Car Tour has competed at Berlin Raceway. The series has competed at Berlin on five separate occasions during its first two years of competition. All five events have been won, decisively, by Roahrig. The defending 500 Sprint Car Tour Champion will be betting on his success at Berlin to return after a rocky start to the 2024 season and his championship defense. Roahrig came home 14th in the first race of the season at Anderson Speedway and will need maximum points at Berlin to enter his name back into the championship conversation.

500 Sprint Car Tour competitors that did not compete in the 76th Annual Little 500 presented by UAW will be making their return to the grid for the first time in nearly two months. Rookie competitors Tim Creech and Nathan Byrd did not participate in the Little 500 while fellow rookie Brady Allum did. Byrd was on property as an entry for the Little 500, but an engine issue forced them to withdraw their entry before making a qualifying attempt. Taylor Ferns, a staple on the 500 Sprint Car Tour grid, has been waiting for a chance to get behind the wheel again after sitting out the Little 500 this year. Ferns had a solid finish in the season opening event at Anderson Speedway and finds herself third in points as the championship push officially begins.

First time competitors will make their way to Berlin Raceway to make their 500 Sprint Car Tour Debut. Cord Ehrhart from Antwerp, Ohio will make his first appearance with the 500 Sprint Car Tour along with Joe Bares from Jension, Michigan. Bares will be competing in the Karl Schwarz machine that fans saw compete in the beginning stages of the 2023 season with Nick Marcott behind the wheel. The Michigan duo of Bares and Schwarz will look to have a solid outing at their home track for their first 500 Sprint Car Tour event of the 2024 season.

Other notable entries include: Donnie Adams Jr. (Yorktown, IN), Shane Butler (Bushnell, FL), Jackson Macenko (Cincinnati, OH), Justin Harper (Denver, IN), Kyle O’Gara (Camby, IN), Billy Wease (Fishers, IN), and Bobby Santos III (Franklin, Massachusetts)

Through their continued partnership with the 500 Sprint Car Tour, Auto Wares Group and their Auto Value Parts Stores division will be primary sponsor for the 40-lap event at Berlin Raceway. A local race and a local race track for Auto Value, based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, the events at Berlin Raceway are always a prime opportunity for the company to activate their partnership. Auto Wares Group is entering their third season as an Official 500 Sprint Car Tour Partner as they attach their name to multiple races as primary sponsor for multiple races during the 2024 season.

The 2024 500 Sprint Car Tour season will see nine points earning events across a ten race schedule from early April to mid October. The 76th Annual Little 500 will once again be a non-points earning event for the series, filling out the ten race schedule in its traditional Memorial Day Weekend slot. All races, including the 76th Annual Little 500, will be streamed LIVE on DIRTVision.
